The G.O.A.T. Returns: HOKA Launches Speedgoat 7 for Trail Dominance

GOLETA, Calif. — HOKA®, the trail-running brand under Deckers Brands, unveiled the Speedgoat 7, the latest evolution of its acclaimed trail shoe line, engineered to tackle rugged terrain, technical downhills, and everything in between.
Launched February 1, 2026, the Speedgoat 7 features upgraded traction and cushioning, a refreshed super-critical foamed EVA midsole for improved energy return, and a Vibram® Megagrip outsole with traction lugs for maximum control on mixed surfaces. The shoe also introduces an integrated gaiter attachment to keep debris out and ensure a smoother ride.
“The G.O.A.T. is back with the introduction of the Speedgoat 7, the newest addition to our cult-favorite franchise,” said Bekah Broe, senior director of performance footwear at HOKA. “Injected with new technology, we want trail runners to feel confident taking on the toughest terrain. At HOKA, we’re committed to constant innovation, delivering the best trail shoes on the market, fit for any distance or environment.”
HOKA also announced the Run Wilder campaign, showcasing the Speedgoat 7’s performance in Iceland’s challenging landscapes. Trail athletes tested the shoe across steep, slick, and rocky terrain to demonstrate its reliability under real-world conditions.
Coinciding with the launch, HOKA is inviting runners worldwide to participate in the Speedgoat 7 Vert Challenge. Beginning April 9, 2026, participants will aim to achieve 7,000 feet of vertical gain in 30 days via Strava or Joyrun. Those who complete the challenge will receive a digital badge and be entered to win a grand prize, including a full year of HOKA footwear, a complete trail apparel kit, and entry to a UTMB World Series race.
First introduced in 2015, the Speedgoat franchise has earned a reputation as the “greatest of all time” for trail running. The Speedgoat 7 builds on that legacy with features such as a lay-flat tongue with dual gusset, lightweight RPET woven textile upper, patent-pending dynamic vamp, heel pull tab, reflective details, and updated lug orientation for mixed terrain.
The Speedgoat 7 is available now at HOKA.com and authorized retailers worldwide in three colorways, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $165.
